No longer want an email account on your i Phone, i Pad, or i Pod?
Entire email accounts are very easy to remove from i OS, so whether you changed jobs, email addresses, an email provider was shut down, or perhaps you just don’t want to get emails for a particular account on your i OS device any more, you can easily delete the entire account in one fell swoop.
You can also delete and then re-add an entire account as a shortcut to removing every single locally stored mail message from i OS for that specific account, which with giant mailboxes may be faster than deleting a bunch of individual email messages in bulk the way you’re supposed to.
Just be aware that removing an account to delete the messages locally from your device will not delete them from the mail server.
There isn’t much harm in removing a mail account from i OS because you can always add the account back again in the future should need be.
No matter if you use i Cloud, Gmail, or another email, calendar, or contact service, it's pretty easy to set up these days on your i Phone or i Pad.To show or hide Smart Mailboxes, tap Edit in the upper-right corner of the Mailboxes list. Then tap the Smart Mailboxes that you want to see and tap Done.A Smart Mailbox gathers all emails that meet certain criteria, like unread emails or emails from VIPs, so you can find them in one place.
The Mail app automatically sets up Smart Mailboxes for you to use. This is still evident with i OS 11, and though the process differs slightly from its predecessors, it can still be accomplished with relative ease.
